I met delightful Leslie Sinclair, who is the author of this amazing book whilst "blogging". Leslie lives in Houston Texas where she runs her company employing a staff of 25 artisans who are skilled in premier finishes. This is the top of my favourite book list, because it is inspiring and creative and showcases many different ways and ideas to "finish" your home.

Segreto: Secrets To Finishing Beautiful Interiors.

There is a definite chill in the air so it is time to gather seeds, label seed packets and trim and tie up the garden ready for a winter sleep. Protect frost sensitive plants with cloches, hessian or a glass house. Winters where I live can be harsh and frosty so I don't want to lose any plants I have nurtured during spring and summer. Plants appreciate the effort and they repay in spring!

Daylesford is a gorgeous farm near Kingham in Gloustershire not far from where my daughter lives with her family, and she never fails to take me there for lunch every time I visit. It is an absolute treat. The farmshop sells their own farm grown meat, fish and vegetables and it has a dairy and creamery. In addition the shop sells kitchen accoutrements of very high quality and the most wonderful baskets (my obsession, but I can't bring them home).
If you can't get to Kingham there is a lovely farmshop and cafe on Pimlico Road, Pimlico in London, one also in Notting Hill and also in Selfridges Food Hall so there is no excuse for not visiting!!
